- Fee waiver applications can be requested. Approval for these applications will be determined by the Athletic Director and the Principal upon completion of the application. No student/athlete will be excluded from the sports programs at ESPL for an inability to pay the sport’s fee.

- Practices: Regular attendance at practice is expected. Practice begins immediately after school: 4:00-5:30pm unless otherwise noted. Individuals who are late for practices or have unexcused absences will lose playing time. The only acceptable reasons for missing practice are absences from school because of illness, a school sponsored activity, or a family emergency. Student athletes are to be picked up within 10 minutes of the ending of practice.
- 1 unexcused absence = 1 missed game/meet
- 2 unexcused absence = 2 missed games/meets
- 3 unexcused absence = dismissal from the team
- Absence: Any student absent from school because of illness will not be allowed to participate in practices or games scheduled for that day. STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE AT LEAST 1/2 DAY OF SCHOOL TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY SPORT ACTIVITY.
- Food: At no time will pop, candy, juice, etc. be allowed in the gym
OR on the playing field during practice or during the game. Individuals
choosing not to follow this rule during practice and game times will
be disciplined as follows:
- 1st offense = one game suspension
- 2nd offense = two game suspension
- 3rd offense = three game suspension
The purpose of this rule is to keep the gyms and fields clean and looking respectable. Goodies after practice are fine as long as they are consumed and disposed of properly.
- Transportation: Student athletes are responsible for finding their own transportation to and home from practices and league/tournament games. These arrangements must be made the night before to eliminate last minute phone calls to parents during the school day. Coaches are not responsible for shuttling players to events. Note: We have a reliable school bus and teams that have a coach or parent with a school bus driver’s endorsement are welcome to use this mode of transportation.
- The ESPL/PTL Booster Club provides the funds to allow our interscholastic program to thrive. As a parent at ESPL you are automatically a member of the ESPL/PTL Booster Club. All parents of student athletes are expected to help with the concessions, or other jobs at the ESPL Basketball Tourney held at Concordia Academy in November. Volunteers are needed for the Fun Fest, the Non-public school marathon at Lake Phalen, and the Magazine and Candy fundraisers, and the Annual Dinner/Auction. The ESPL/PTL Booster Club has also helped fund money for library books, computers, desks, the Spanish program, and playground equipment.
- Parent concerns: Individual concerns should be discussed privately with the coaching staff, but not before or after a practice/game, and not in front of players, parents, and spectators. If after discussion with the coaching staff, and if warranted, concerns should be submitted in writing to the Athletic Director.
