Admission & Enrollment
Applicants for Kindergarten must be five years of age on or before September 1 of the school year for which they are applying. Applicants for first grade must be six years of age on or before September 1 of the school year for which they are applying. The following must be received before a student is considered enrolled or re-enrolled at ESPL:
- Enrollment/Re-enrollment form
- Emergency form
- Proof of up-to-date immunizations as required by state statute
- Kindergarten students must prove proof of preschool screening and a copy of their birth certificate
- Registration fee: This fee is non-refundable unless the school
is unable to accept a student.
- On or before February 15: $100 first child; $80 each additional child
- February 16 – May 15: $200 first child; $80 each additional child
- After May 15: $300 first child; $80 each additional child
- Families who enroll for the first time will be charged the $100 rate first child; $80 each additional child
- Signed Parent/Guardian Statement of Intent
- Signed Student Statement of Intent
- Note: Applicants transferring from another school must provide a copy of the most recent report card.
The principal will interview all first-time applicants and their parents/guardians and has the authority to make decisions on student admission in accordance with the admission requirements. If parents disagree with the principal’s decision, they may appeal to the Board.
A new student will be accepted with a probation period to follow. The probation period will be no more than one quarter of the school year. At that time, a conference will be held to assess the students’ academic progress, work habits, and behavior.
Applications for re-enrollment of current students will be sent out in January. After March 1, applications will be accepted from the public on a first come, first served basis and the following priority order will be followed:
- Returning students or students who have a sibling currently enrolled at ESPL
- Students whose parents are members of one of the congregations which make up the ESPL Association
- Students whose parents are members of a congregation that holds affiliate membership in the ESPL Association
- Students from sister LCMS congregations
- Students from other Lutheran congregations
- Students from other Christian congregations
- Students who desire a Christian education
